Sprint SmartView is a prime example of poorly-conceived and -engineered software that pays no heed to Macintosh standards. While more-or-less functional, it features a terribly designed and quite ugly interface.

Connection Maintenance must be set to "Maintain established connection" not the default of "Disconnect if any other connection available". At the "Sprint SmartView Ver. 2.55.0022.0 " screen, click "Next". At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation. Now, Sprint will refer to the Sprint Connection Manager as Sprint SmartView. The update brings the connection manager version to 1.12.0015.0. To update, connect your mobile broadband card to your PC, and then launch the connection manager. May 04, 2009 · My VPN would not work with my Sprint card and I was so frustrated. In fact, had to UNINSTALL my VPN for it to even work. So, it’s not like I could just switch in on when I was on WiFi and off when I was on Sprint. Then.. VOILA! I did a search out of the blue and found your “update” tip. I've searched the 'Net around a strange issue I'm having with SmartView and my PCX-500 card. When I use the OpenVPN GUI to launch a connection to any of several OpenVPN servers when connected to the Internet via the Sprint card, I can connect for about 5 seconds before the Internet connection drops
